Obituary of Richard L Olson Jr

Richard L Olson Jr., 50 of Jamestown passed away April 15, 2020 at his home. He was born July 28, 1969 in Jamestown the son of Richard and Betty Hendrickson Olson. Rick was a Jamestown resident for most of his life. Family was extremely important to Rick. He frequently talked about his sisters and the love he had for them. Rick will be deeply missed. Rick is survived by his sisters, Paula Olson, Sandy (Karl) Kaups, and Vicki (Scott) Peterson, his nieces, Aleksa and Jessa Kaups, his nephews, Sean, Kyle, and Erik Peterson, and his aunt Lillian Hendrickson. Also surviving are several cousins. Rick is preceded in death by his parents, Betty Hendrickson Olson and Richard “Dick” Olson, his sister, Lori Ann Olson, his aunt, Shirley Vario, and his uncles, Paul, George, and Alvin Hendrickson. Rick loved to spend time with his cousin Bob Goodwill throughout the years. Bob always made time for Rick. He cherished his friendship with Tom, a neighbor that Rick came to depend on. Rick’s family is grateful for all the assistance this friendship provided. Rick was also lucky to have a wonderful worker in Belinda, who knew him well and made sure he got all the help he needed. She made sure Rick went to his doctor appointments, had what he needed for his apartment, and the millions of other tasks she accomplished. Rick depended on Belinda and she was always there for him.
