James L. Hemmis, Jr., age 53, of North East, PA passed away Saturday, July 22, 2017. Jim was born October 11, 1963 in Jamestown, NY. He is the son of James L. Hemmis, Sr. and the late Dianne (VanDyke) Hemmis. Jim was employed at Advance Auto Parts in North East, PA. Jim was an avid hunter and enjoyed riding motorcycles. He loved his Harley Davidson. He was a member of the North East Rod and Gun Club. Jim is survived by two sons: Timothy Charles Hemmis of MS and Cody Brace Hemmis of Lakewood, NY; his father James L. (Daune) Hemmis, Sr., of Brocton; grandmother, Mary Hemmis of Lake Wales, FL; sister, Rebecca Hemmis of Jamestown, NY; step brother, Rich Digirolamo of Ashville, NY; step sister, Rochelle Coone of Warren, PA; aunt, Birdie Crandall of Jamestown; uncle, William Hemmis of TX; aunt, Betty (Dennis) Sloan of Lake Wales, FL; and several, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Jim was predeceased by his mother, Dianne Hemmis and his wife Deborah (Hook) Hemmis. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday August 3, in the Chapel of Christ First Methodist Church on Lakeview and Buffalo Street. A light luncheon will immediately follow the service. Memorial donations may be made directly to James Hemmis, Sr., 133 Lake Ave., Brocton, NY 14716; to help offset the cost of funeral expenses.
