Dominic Lopriore, 72, a resident of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, formerly of Jamestown, died Monday (February 27, 2017) following an extended illness. He was born in Anagni, Italy on May 10, 1944 the son of Vincenzo and Palmira Lopriore. He relocated to the United States with his family in 1953. He was a 1961 graduate of Jamestown High school and continued his education at Jamestown Community College. He served honorably with the US Air Force from 1961 thru 1965. Upon his discharge from the US Air Force, he began a long and successful career in the banking industry with the following banking institutions: Marine Midland Bank, First Union Trust, Fleet Bank and National City Bank of Pa. Most of his banking career was spent on lending and branch management. During his working life, he participated with Rotary International, a member of the American Institute of Banking and most importantly as a Director and member of the Jamestown Boy's and Girl's Club. He is survived by his long standing partner Patricia Carlson, whom he shared a home in New Smyrna Beach and who was a tremendous help during the time of his illness, three step children, Dottie Carlson and Rick Allberg, Jamestown and Wendy Link, Michigan; three sisters, Maria T. (Vincent) DeJoy and Lorenza ( Bill) Everson, Jamestown and Rose ( Walter) Marzi, Colleferro, Rome, Italy; two brothers, Major (Ret) Michael (Shirley) Lopriore and Anthony Lopriore, New Smyrna Beach. He will be missed by many in the extended family including a maternal aunt and uncle in Italy, six step grandchildren, three step great grandchildren, twelve nieces and nephews, twelve great nieces and nephews and three great great nieces and nephews, multiple cousins in the US and Italy. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Stewart Allberg and a sister, Maria Josephine Blanchard. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held Saturday at Noon at the Hubert Funeral Home and Cremation Services. The Rev. Luke F. Fodor, Rector of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, will officiate. Inurnment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. The family will be present to receive friends for one hour prior to the funeral service. The family wishes to thank the staff at Halifax Hospice, Port Orange, Florida. In lieu of flowers the family wished that donations be made in his honor to the Jamestown Boy's and Girl's Club, 62 Allen St., Jamestown, N.Y. 14701.
