Obituary of Maria Perfetto Mongitore

Maria Perfetto Mongitore, 90, of Jamestown, died Thursday (January 19, 2017) in Heritage Park HCC. She was born in Canicatti, Sicily on February 26, 1926 the daughter of Antonio and Carmela DiPuma Perfetto. Maria was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church She is survived by a son, Thomas (Rosa) Mongitore, Phoenix, Az., two daughters, Maria Mongitore and Carmela Bartholomew, Jamestown, five grandchildren, Thomas (Bonnie) Mongitore, Oh., Gail Heil, Lily Dale, Jacquelyn Marie Mongitore, Jamestown, Ann Marie (Scott) Pfeiffer, Gerry, N.Y. and Vincent Mongitore, Canicatti, Sicily, eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Antonio Mongitore, whom she married on December 27, 1942 in Canciatti, Sicily and who died on Nov. 7, 2008 and by her brothers, James, Frank and Joseph Perfetto and her sisters, Carrie Parla, Angie Signorino and Carmela Valanti. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday in St. James Catholic Church. The Rev. Darrell G. Duffy, pastor, will be the celebrant. Entombment will be in Holy Sepulchre Mausoleum.
