Josephine Foti March 19, 1916 – June 2, 2011 Friends will be received on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the funeral home where a Christian Wake Service will be held at 8:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 6th in St. James Catholic Church. Josephine Foti, 95, of 130 Maple St., Jamestown, died at 2:00 a.m. Thursday (June 2, 2011)in Heritage Park Rehab & Skilled Nursing Facility.She was born in Jamestown on March 19, 1916 the daughter of Carmelo and Sebastiana Foti. Josephine was employed as a cook at the former St. James Parochial School for twenty years and previously was employed at Jamestown Worsted Mills. She was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church and a member of the Altar & Rosary Society and helped work at the annual St. Joseph Table. Everything centered around her family and church. She enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and was an avid Yankee fan. Josephine is survived by two daughters Louise Pillittieri and Mary Ann Foti, Jamestown, five grandchildren; Carl (Polly) Pillittieri, Peter (Heidi)) Pillittieri and Tina (Andrew) Sandstrom, Jamestown, Stacey (Joseph) Samaritano, Orchard Park, N.Y. and Sott (Karen) Foti, West Seneca, N.Y., five great grandchildren Jacob and Jonathan Sandstrom, Sarah and Laine Pillittieri, Jamestown and Nicholas Foti, West Seneca, N.Y., a sister in law Josephine M. Foti, Jamestown. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband Anthony Foti whom she married on June 1, 1935 in St. James Catholic Church and who died on November 9, 1994 and by a son Sebastian Foti, a granddaughter Stephanie Foti, two brothers Carl and Anthony Foti and an infant sister Sarah Foti. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday in St. James Catholic Church. The Rev. Darrell G. Duffy, pastor, will be the celebrant.Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Friends will be received on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Hubert Funeral Home And Cremation Services. A Christian Wake Service will be held at 8:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Stephanie Foti Scholarship Fund c/o JCC Foundation, 525 Falconer St., Jamestown, NY, or St. James Catholic Church, 27 Allen St. Jamestown, NY.
